Brunson's good friend, Thomas Austin Preston Jr., also known as Amarillo Slim is also one of the famous texas holdem players. He was born in Johnson, Arkansas, on December 31, 1928. His poker career started when he was 25 after successful career in pool and snooker. He won the 1972 World Series of Poker main event. Until 2004 Amarillo Slim has a total of 4 WSOP bracelets, and has won over $500,000 in tournament play. He also joined the Poker Hall of Fame in 1992.

Recently she has earned over $500,000 and 11 final tables in just 8 years of playing.
